The Steel Helmet.

The prominant M38 Jump Helmet is worn here. Later in the war it was quite common to see M40 and M42 helmets being worn. You can add a rubber inner tube band, or net for foliage.

Primary Weapon.

This soldier is armed with the Maschinengewehr 42, or "Machine Gun of 1942", as his primary weapon. We encourage all of you to use bolt action rifles as it enhances gameplay.

Jump Smock.

This is the Type III jump smock, in Splinter Pattern. It was not rare to see this and Green Type II smocks along side the Type III later in the war. This Smock is typically worn over the Fliegerbluse with Luftwaffe insignia proudly on display.

Belt & Kit.
As you can see the soldier is wearing standard rifleman kit. important items here for eating, hydration and, should it rain, waterproofing.
(Note the Y-Straps are Falschirmjager specific

Wool Jump Trouser.

Unique to the paratroopers, the M38 Jump Trousers are a status symbol. They have several additional pockets that served for early internal knee-pads and a combined pocket for gravity knife.

Footwear.

This paratrooper is wearing the 1st Pattern Jump boots. You will see these in service with the 2nd Pattern and, in some cases, Low boots.

Falschirmjäger MG-Shutze,
Normandy, 1944

Here is one of our community member's Falschirmjäger (Paratrooper) MG-Shutze Impression. This is a late war impression between 1943 and 1945 and would be seen during the battle of Carentan, Monte Cassino and the withdraw into Germany. Here you can find an early war loadout, very much like the battle of Crete in 1941 where the Falschirmjäger are dressed differently.

Here is a break down of the kit being worn;

What about a sidearm?

If you limit your rifles to under 370fps / 1.27j you wont need a side arm, and this will allow you to storm enemy positions up close an personal. A rubber bayonet is far more effective than your rifle at such close quarters.

Can I use Officer kit? ?
We would NOT recommend coming to an event as an Officer or NCO. These roles are reserved for crew and people in command appointments.
