Freedom is a paramilitary faction of ideologically motivated Stalkers illegally operating in The Zone. They are often in direct conflict with the Military, and rivals such as Duty, Mercenaries, and Bandits. However, they are neutral to Free Stalkers, Traders and Scientists and are accepting of former members from all factions.
Freedom stalkers have access to Western weapons and they've adopted the Flecktarn as their camouflage, and the bodysuits are of distictive designs.
Freedom's goal is to prevent the government from covering up the zone or anyone gaining a monopoly over its resources. They believe further research and open access to the zone and its secrets would be a great benefit to humanity. They do not think The Zone should or could be destroyed.
