United States
The M1 Steel Helmet.
The classic M1 Helmet, being worn by the US army from 1941 until 1985.
(Note late war helmet net.)
Primary Weapon.
The M1918 BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) was designed to be carried by infantrymen during an assault while stationary, using a bipod, supported by the sling over the shoulder, or to be fired from the hip.
M43 Combat Jacket.
The M43 Combat Jacket, replacing the M41, is being worn over the Army HBT Shirt or Wool Service Shirt.
Belt Kit.
As you can see the soldier is wearing standard M37 Webbing with BAR pouches. Important items here for eating, hydration!
HBT (Dark Shade) Trousers.
The standard issue HBT Trousers in dark green were the standard issue for GIs from late 1944. These replaced the Mustard Wool Trousers we see earlier on.
Footwear.
Here you can see the Rifleman is wearing US Roughout Boots, with US M1936 Dismounted Leggings. These items were being replaced with the M43 Buckle Boots.

What about a sidearm?
If you limit your rifles to under 370fps / 1.27j you wont need a side arm, and this will allow you to storm enemy positions up close an personal. A rubber bayonet is far more effective than your rifle at such close quarters.
Can I use Officer kit? ?
We would NOT recommend coming to an event as an Officer or NCO. These roles are reserved for crew and people in command appointments.
