The M1 Steel Helmet.

The classic M1 Helmet, being worn by the US army from 1941 until 1985.

(Note no helmet cover.)

The U.S.M.C. early on were issued the M1903a1 Springfield, although the M1 Garand was being phased into Marine Corps serice.

The standard U.S.M.C. jacket was the P1941 is being worn over the White T-shirt. It is seen in service early in the Pacific campagn but is later replaced with the P42 "Frogskin" camouflage jacket.

The P1941 trousers were worn by the U.S.M.C. at the start of WW2 and was seen worn in the most popular images of the Pacific war right up until 1945.

Here you can see the Rifleman is wearing USMC Leggings under his trousers with the N1 Field Shoe (Boondockers).

As you can see the soldier is wearing the M1 Garand cartridge belt, identical to the US Army one, you can see here the suspenders have been ditched. Important items here for eating, hydration!

USMC Rifleman,
Guadalcanal, 1942

Here is one of our community member's U.S.M.C impressions. This is an early war impression based around Guadalcanal in 1942. The U.S.M.C. uniform will change soon after 1942. This is probably the easiest ww2 loadout to do.

Here is a break down of the kit being worn;

  • M1 Helmet

Torso;

  • HBT P41 Shirt

  • White T-Shirt

What other weapons could I use?

  • M1903 Sprinfield

  • M1918 BAR

  • M1919 .30cal

  • M37 Trench Shotgun

  • M1928 Thompson

What about a sidearm?

If you limit your rifles to under 370fps / 1.27j you wont need a side arm, and this will allow you to storm enemy positions up close an personal. A rubber bayonet is far more effective than your rifle at such close quarters.

Can I use Officer kit? ?
We would NOT recommend coming to an event as an Officer or NCO. These roles are reserved for crew and people in command appointments.
